U.S. international Caleb Wiley could be on the move to his third club in 12 months as Chelsea have reportedly accepted a loan bid to Watford in England's Championship.
Wiley spent the first half of the season on loan at Strasbourg, starting the season well in Ligue 1 before having the last few months of 2024 derailed by injury. In total, the former Atlanta United star made six appearances in Ligue 1 during his brief stay in France.
Reports indicated that Wiley would potentially return to Chelsea in January to recover from his injury issues and open up a loan spot between the Blues and partner club Strasbourg. Instead, he now joins who currently sit ninth in the second division.
The 20-year-old Atlanta-born star originally joined Chelsea from his hometown club last July in a deal worth roughly £8.5 million ($10.9m).

In addition to the strides he's made on the club level since breaking out with Atlanta United in 2022, Wiley has also been a regular for the U.S. national team system. He was a member of the U.S. U-23 squad for last summer's Olympic tournament and already has three USMNT camps spread across 2023 and 2024. Able to play fullback, wingback and winger, Wiley is a player with the potential to feature for the USMNT anywhere on that left-hand side.
